I had a similar conversation with Elizabeth Hamilton :

me to Elizabeth Hamilton:

Dear Ms. Hamilton,

I am excited to hear that Rogers Wireless will be offering the iPhone 3G to Canadians on July 11th. This has been a product I have been watching quite carefully, and I look forward to purchasing it in a few weeks.

I was wondering when Rogers Wireless will be making a statement regarding the iPhone 3G price plan. I think that Rogers customers have been quite patient with this matter, having waited a considerable amount of time for the phone, even enduring several misstatements by Rogers executives regarding the availability of the device. I would love to see Rogers Wireless reach out to their customers and encourage their opinions regarding the iPhone price plan. I would urge the organization to take some leadership on providing relevant information regarding this device in a timely fashion. It is disappointing that Rogers has no information regarding the price plan at this point, as it remains the linch pin to getting this product in customers' hands.

I look forward to your response, Ms. Hamilton. Congratulations on securing an amazing product!

Yours truly,
Hemant
Rogers Customer

Elizabeth Hamilton to Hemant

Hemant,
I appreciate your enthusiasm for the device and we are thrilled to be able to offer it to Canadians starting July 11. One point of information: this device has not been something Canadians have been awaiting for years - it is the brand new, as yet unavailable anywhere 3G. iPhone. I do however appreciate the importance of knowing the price plan and that information will be available soon.
Regards, Liz
------------------------------------------------------------------
Sent from my BlackBerry device on the Rogers Wireless Network

Re: Apple = Awesome, Rogers = FAIL

Hrm. Great screenshots. And I'm still not convinced you talked with a real person. Same thing happened to me yesterday with a Vonage chat-bot.
Evil wee buggers. And I'm sure they're not going to tell you anything of value until they're ready, of course
:-)

Re: Apple = Awesome, Rogers = FAIL

When I asked Rogers' customer service about the iPhone they said:

"Unfortunately, your request is out of my support boundaries. Please contact our Customer Service Center"

rogers is nuclear fucking fail

Re: Apple = Awesome, Rogers = FAIL

They don't care because they know they'll get your money anyways. Why should they put the extra effort, they'll save a bundle AND be able to charge you more at the same time.

Competition is what we need.
